Start construction of temple in commemoration of the martyr Truong Son at Long Dai Ferry

(Quang Binh Website) - On July 26, the Quang Binh Provincial Youth Union held a ceremony to start construction of temple in commemoration of the martyr Truong Son at Long Dai Ferry. The ceremony was attended by Mr Luong Ngoc Binh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Tran Tien Dung, Vice-chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Phan Van Mai, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; representatives of provincial-level agencies and local people.

Located in Xuan Ninh commune, Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province, the temple is built at the northwest of Long Dai Bridge, next to the Long Dai Ferry along Road 15, which belonged to the Truong Son Road system and was one of the fiercest places during the war against the US invaders.

The commemorative temple has an area of 1,600 square meters, including a temple, monument, and bell-tower.

Construction of the commemorative temple has the total investment of VND 10 billion, financed by the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) through Nghia Tinh Truong Son program of Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper.

Construction of the commemorative temple at Long Dai Ferry has great historical values, aiming at educating revolutionary tradition to young generation. This is also the place where the people come to visit and offer incenses in memory of martyrs who sacrificed for independence and freedom of the fatherland.

Vice-chairman of the Provincial People's Committee speaks at the ceremony

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice-chairman Tran Tien Dung thanked the benefactors for construction of the commemorative temple at Long Dai Ferry and praised the efforts made by related agencies and localities in preparation for the launching ceremony. Vice-chairman also asked related authorities and units to create all favorable conditions for contractor to quickly complete and put the project into use.
