Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the mission of the Asian Developement Bank

At the working session, Mrs. Linda Adams, social development specialist, leader of the ADB mission briefly presented the content of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the R-CDTA for harnessing climate change mitigation initiatives to benefit women.

Accordingly, three main outputs of the R-CDTA include: gender concerns mainstreamed in national or sub-national climate change strategies, action plans, and mitigation plans; effective mechanism supporting stakeholder engagement process and gender equitable benefit distribution identified for replication; three pilot projects successfully implemented by national women's groups to develop local tools and mechanisms in order to access climate financing.

The total expense for the R-CDTA of approximately US$3,0 million, including redundancy costs and other expenses which are expected to be contributed from the Government, will be allocated to three countries of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Standing Vice-chairman Nguyen Xuan Quang thanked the investor for linking the project with existing ADB operations in Dong Hoi, Quang Binh province.

"This is a very important project to the socio-economic development of the province because Quang Binh is the locality which suffers the heavy impacts of climate change", he stressed.

The comrade said that signing the MOU would contribute to improve the effectiveness in the process of implementing the project.
