Quang Binh - Khammouane: convene the 8th meeting for border demarcation and landmark planting

(Quang Binh Website) - On June 23, the Steering Board for border demarcation and landmark planting of Quang Binh province (Vietnam) and Khammouane (Laos) held the 8th meeting to exchange and approve the plan for increasing and embellishing Vietnam-Laos national landmarks in the second half of 2012.

Present at the meeting were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Tuan, head of the Steering Board for border demarcation and landmark planting of Quang Binh province; Deputy Governor Oday Soudaphone, head of the Steering Board for border demarcation and landmark planting of Khammouane province.

Over the past time, great achievements has made in increasing and embellishing Vietnam-Laos national landmarks between Quang Binh and Khammouane provinces. Two sides have to date carried out the survey and defined 48 out of 52 positions for landmark planting.

At the meeting, two sides spent much time to discuss difficulties in the implementation of landmark planting and proposed the working plan for Vietnam-Laos national landmark planting in the second half of 2012.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Tran Van Tuan, head of the Steering Board for border demarcation and landmark planting of Quang Binh province highly valued the results obtained in increasing and embellishing Vietnam-Laos national landmarks between Quang Binh and Khammouane provinces over the past time. He expressed his hope that the Steering Board for border demarcation and landmark planting of two provinces would continue working closely and exchange information to well implement border demarcation and landmark planting between two provinces.

Signing the Minutes of Meeting

On the same day, two sides signed the Minutes of Meeting on border demarcation and landmark planting between Quang Binh and Khammouane.
