Over US$13 million to implement solar power supply project in Quang Binh

 (Quang Binh Portal) - The Provincial People"s Committee on April 11 had a meeting with the management board of solar power supply project (QBSC) in Quang Binh province and the contractor of KT Corporation (South Korea). Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People"s Committee Nguyen Xuan Quang chaired the meeting.

The QBSC project has a total investment of over US$13.7 million from ODA capital funded by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the Government of Korea and the corresponding capital of the Government of Vietnam.

The project includes 07 contract packages. Of which, the two main contract packages are the package No.7 (construction and equipment) carried out by the KT Corporation and the package No.2 (surveying consultancy, bidding support, construction supervision and system operation instructions) carried out by the Dohwa Corporation.

The project’s main focus is to provide solar power to hamlets in communes which the national grid has not reached in the far-flung and remote areas of the districts of Le Thuy, Quang Ninh, Bo Trach and Minh Hoa.

At the meeting, the QBSC Management Board and related units discussed some difficulties and solutions to accelerate the progress of implementing the project in the coming time.

Closing the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Quang stressed the importance of the project to the friendly and cooperative relations between Vietnam and Japan, especially the life of people in the far-flung and remote areas in the province, aiming to stabilise their life and promote socio-economic development.

Vice Chairman also asked the project management board and the contractors to accelerate the progress of implementation, ensuring the completion of procedure for handover before July 1st.
