Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Quang presided over the meeting.
The World Bank-sponsored project was implemented from 2016 including two components: restoring and upgrading local roads and building small bridges in residential areas.
The component No.1 (restoring and upgrading local roads) draws the participation of 14 provinces with a US$135 million loan from the World Bank (WB). Of which, a US$9.2 million loan (equivalently VND208 billion) is given to Quang Binh province and the province's corresponding capital is VND136 billion, aiming to build 11 local roads in the 2017-2021 period.
The project's component No.2 (building bridge) includes the participation of 50 provinces with a US$250 milion loan from WB. Of which, Quang Binh is provided with US$6.74 million (equivalently VND152 billion) to construct 22 bridges in the province.
Accordingly, Quang Binh will focus on implementing the project's component No.1, building two out of eleven roads with a total length of 14.1km and total investment of VND42.34 billion.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Quang applauded the efforts made by related departments and branches in implementing the project's components as scheduled time.
During the process of implementing the project, the Department of Transport in coordination with related units to carefully prepare for selecting contractor and implement the procedures according to the regulations, he asked.
He hoped that the Management Board No.6 (the Ministry of Transport) would create all favorable conditions for the province to implement the project's components.
