IFAD project for third phase is sustainable rural development for the poor (SRDP) project in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh with a total capital of USD33 million.

The project aims at increasing income of people in upland areas making them more resilient to impact of climate fluctuations and changes; building resilience into production systems by establishing climate robust value chains with perennial crops and animal husbandry as prominent elements; improving water holding capacity in agricultural and forest land, reducing flooding and drought; strengthening erosion and landslide control preferably through agronomic measures rather than physical structures, and mitigation of disaster impacts by improved low cost harvest storage facilities, housing and irrigation infrastructure.

Delivering a speech at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Tran Van Tuan highly evaluated the results that IFAD project obtained in the past time and asked relevant agencies and localities to have a close combination to effectively implement the project's third phase.
