The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tien Dung, representatives of departments and branches, Jetstar Pacific Airlines and 120 tourism enterprises of Quang Binh province and travel companies in Vietnam.

On the side of Thailand, there were Mr. Bootha Chailert, Chairman of the Tourism Business Association of Chiang Mai and 40 tourism enterprises from the provinces in Northern Thailand.

In order to speed up attraction of tourists from Chiang Mai market and the provinces in Northern Thailand to Quang Binh in particular and Vietnam in general, the Department of Tourism of Quang Binh province in coordination with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Tourism Business Association of Chiang Mai held a delegation of famtrip and presstrip for the tourism enterprises and press agencies in Thailand to Vietnam. During the four-day trip from August 21 - 24, the delegation visited many famous landscapes in Quang Nam province and Da Nang city, discovered magnificent cave system in Quang Binh province and surveyed tourism services in Dong Hoi city and Phong Nha - Ke Bang area, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee applauded the visit of the Thailand Tourism Association to Quang Binh. The tourism connectivity meeting was an opportunity for Quang Binh province and Chiang Mai province to strengthen links between tours and attractive destinations and introduce tourism products, meeting the demands of tourists from the two countries, Vice Chairman Tran Tien Dung said.

Also at the meeting, Mr. Booth Chailert stressed this was a good opportunity for tourism enterprises between Chiang Mai and Quang Binh in particular, Thailand and Vietnam in general to exchange experience on tourism development. He also sent a invitation to friends in Vietnam to visit Chiang Mai province and the provinces in Northern Thailand for exploring unique culture, beautiful nature and hospitable people.

At the meeting, the tourism enterprises of Vietnam and Thailand signed agreements and contract on supplying tourism services and destinations for toruists via a new air route between Dong Hoi and Chiang Mai.
