Meeting to respond to World Environment Day, International Day for Biodiversity and Vietnam’s Sea and Islands Week 2015
Delegates attend the meeting in response to World Environment Day
This is an annual event happening in many localities across the country, aiming to protect environment, sea, islands and oceans.
Under the theme of the 2015 World Environment Day - “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care” and the theme of Vietnam Sea and Islands Week - “Blue Ocean, Green Planet”, the meeting aims to raise awareness of the community on environmental protection and sustainable development.
In reponse to the World Environment Day and Vietnam Sea and Islands Week, a series of activities and events were organized across the province during the week such as: propaganda on importance of sea and islands as well as the country’s sea and island sovereignty protection, a street parade, beach clean-up programmes and tree planting, among others.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated obtained results in activities of environment protection as well as state management on sea and islands in the past time.
In order to protect sea and islands environment and strengthen adaptation to climate changes, Deputy Chairman required units, localities and people to continue conducting propaganda and education of sea and islands environment and improving the self-consciousness and habit of community in environment protection.
