The high-ranking delegation of Quang Binh province was led by Mr. Vu Dai Thang, a member of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation. Attending the meeting were Mr. Tran Hai Chau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Tran Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Party, authorities, departments, and branches of the province. The high-ranking delegation of Champasak province was led by Mr. Vilayvong Butdakham, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary, and Provincial Governor. Participating in the delegation were Mr. Saithong Xay Nhavong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; leaders of the Party, government, , departments and branches of the province.

At the meeting, the two heads of the delegation informed about the socio-economic situation, national defense, and security, the construction of the Party, and the authority of each province, and assessed the situation and results of cooperation between the two provinces in the past time. The two sides were pleased to see that, under the leadership of the Party Committees and authorities of the two provinces, in the context of facing many difficulties and challenges, especially the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Quang Binh and Champasak achieved many important achievements in the fields of politics, economy, culture, society, defense, security and foreign affairs. Along with that, the relationship between Quang Binh and Champasak provinces is constantly being consolidated and developed, meeting the aspirations and interests of the people of the two provinces.

At the meeting, the Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee Briefly assessed the important cooperation results between the two provinces over the past time; simultaneously, he emphasized that the Party Committee, authority, army, and people of Quang Binh province considered the people of Laos, Champasak province as a faithful and pure friend. He congratulated the important achievements of Champasak province; at the same time, he affirmed the determination to inherit and cultivate special solidarity, the friendly relationship between the two provinces.

On behalf of the high-ranking delegation of Champasak Province, the Secretary, the Governor of Champasak province expressed his joy and gratitude for the cooperation, concern, and assistance of Quang Binh province in the past time. At the same time, he hoped that the two provinces would continue to strengthen their relationship of solidarity.

Also at the meeting, the two sides exchanged, discussed, and agreed on cooperation contents in the coming time. Accordingly, every two years, the two provinces will alternately exchange high-level delegations to evaluate cooperation results and agree on cooperation contents for the next time. In the economic, cultural, and social fields, the two provinces encourage and create favorable conditions for businesses and investors to invest in such fields as trade, tourism, services, transportation, goods production ... in accordance with the capabilities and strengths of each province. Each year, Quang Binh province helps Champasak province to train 10 officials and students. Champasak province receives training to help Quang Binh province with 04 officials and students to learn the Lao language at training institutions of two localities. The two sides also continue to pay attention to and support each other when there are natural disasters and epidemics; strengthen the connection of information in foreign affairs; encourage cooperation, and develop fields suitable to each party’s needs and capabilities with specific and practical contents.

The next program of talks between the high-level delegations of the two provinces will be held in 2024, in Packxe city, Champasak province, Lao People's Democratic Republic.
