The Provincial Anti-Corruption Steering Committee deployed the Plan for 2009

(Quang Binh Website) - On January 13 2009, the Provincial Anti-Corruption Steering Committee held a meeting to deploy the anti-corruption plan for 2009. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Anti-Corruption Steering Committee Phan Lam Phuong presided over the meeting.

Attending the meeting were Deputy Chief of the Central Anti-Corruption Steering Committee Luong Thanh Tam and representative of related departments and branches in the province.

In 2008, a lot of big changes have been seen in work of anti-corruption. The Provincial Anti-Corruption Steering Committee approved the specific programs and plans to direct departments and localities in implementing work of anti-corruption; renovated work of management, strengthened propaganda and dissemination of law on anti-corruption; coordinated with units and localities to check and grasp practical situation in grassroots level; focused on solving the serious cases of corruption. In the past year, the Steering Committee received 22 complaints and 16 cases of denouncement.

The orientation and task for 2009 is to continuously coordinate with related departments and units to propagandize the third Central Committee meeting's Resolution (Term X) and Law on Anti-Corruption; speed up work of inspection and supervision in the fields of land, construction investment, budget finance in order to timely discover and prevent corruptive behaviors. Coordinate with the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial National Assembly Delegation to supervise work of receiving civil-servants and solving complaints and denouncements of the people. Encourage and create favorable conditions for the people to complain and denounce corruptive behaviors. Receive and settle the cases in accordance with the competent function; direct and instruct departments and branches, districts and city to summarize, evaluate and learn experience in order to improve the effectiveness of anti-corruption.

Giving a speech at the meeting, Province Chairman Phan Lam Phuong stressed that the Provincial Anti-Corruption Steering Committee need to well implement 12 assigned tasks; promote propaganda and timely discover and prevent corruptive cases; continue to direct, supervise and speed up anti-corruption in departments, branches, districts and city at the request of the Provincial People's Committee, contributing to make a confidence in the people and bring into play the participation of all society.
