Provincial People's Committee Chairman Le Hong Vinh Receives Courtesy Calls from Delegations of the Lao People's Democratic Republic
On the afternoon of July 4, 2026, Mr. Le Hong Vinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, received courtesy calls from delegations from the Lao provinces of Xaysomboun, Bolikhamxay, Khammouane, Savannakhet, Saravan, Sekong and Champasak (the Lao People's Democratic Republic) along with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam and the Consul General of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Da Nang. The courtesy meeting took place ahead of the Conference on the Announcement of the Adjusted Quang Tri Provincial Planning and Investment Promotion, as well as the opening ceremony of the Festival for Peace 2026. Also attending the reception was Mr. Le Van Bao, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Le Hong Vinh, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, expressed his pleasure at welcoming delegations from the Lao Peopl’'s Democratic Republic to attend the province’s major events. He emphasized that the conference on the announcement of the adjusted provincial planning and investment promotion marks a significant milestone, opening up new development opportunities with a long-term vision. The chairman noted that the province aims to develop Quang Tri into a clean energy hub of the central region, a key logistics gateway on the East–West economic corridor, while effectively harnessing its cultural and historical heritage as well as its tourism potential to drive sustainable growth.

In addition, the Festival for Peace 2026 continues to reaffirm the message that Quang Tri wishes to convey to the international community - a shared aspiration for peace, cooperation and development. The festival also helps promote humanitarian values, enhance connectivity, and foster cooperation among countries and localities.

Mr. Le Hong Vinh affirmed that the values of peace can only be truly sustainable when they are built on a foundation of dialogue, trust, mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation. In this spirit, Quang Tri Province consistently attaches great importance to and seeks to further strengthen, expand and deepen its cooperative relations with localities of the Lao Peopl’'s Democratic Republic across a wide range of fields, including investment, trade, education, healthcare, culture, tourism, people-to-people exchanges, climate change adaptation and sustainable development.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Hong Vinh also highly appreciated the presence of the delegations, describing it as a testament to the close ties, attention and support that Lao localities have extended to Quang Tri Province. He expressed confidence that the visit would further strengthen the special friendship, traditional solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Quang Tri and localities of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, for the mutual benefit of the peoples of Viet Nam and Laos.
