VN and Germany inked many valuable contracts worth of billions of US dollars

VNGOP – At the Germany-Việt Nam Business Forum held on March 7 in Frankfurt, in the witness of PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, many Vietnamese and German economic groups and enterprises signed a number of packs worth of billions of US dollars.

These documents include a US $1.5-billion agreement on establishing a joint-stock company to invest in the Germany-based Xuân Phương Urban Quarter signed between the Bank for Investment and Development of Việt Nam (BIDV), Vietnam Airlines, PetroVietnam’s Construction Corporation and PIT GEVIN (Germany); and a US $400-million agreement on building cargo vessels of 58 Dwt each between the Việt Nam Shipping Industry Group and STA Holding Und Management GmbH. There are also some contracts on shirt production between the Duc Giang Garment Company and the Seiden Sticker Group worth of 80 million of EUR (120 million of US dollars); on purchase of cement making equipment between the Truong Thinh Construction Company and the Polysius Company worth of 100 million of EUR; on founding a bio-energy joint-venture between the Binh Tay Limited Liability Company and the Jatro AG worth of 100 million of US dollars; and on training young Vietnamese inventors between the Quoc Anh IEC Company.Ltd and the Phoenix Contact, IMC & Qualification Verband, and so on.

Talking to businesses of the two countries, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng applauded cooperation between two countries and confirmed that the Vietnamese Government always considers foreign investors an indispensable part of the national economy. Việt Nam has been creating best conditions and an open and transparent business environment to foreign investors, including those from Germany, he stated, adding that, Việt Nam, as a WTO member, will seriously observe its commitments in all fields, even such “sensitive” sectors as finance, banking, telecommunication and retail market.
