At the meeting, the McKinsey & Company Việt Nam briefly reported on the draft on breakthroughs in socio-economic development master plan of Quang Binh by 2030 with vision to 2050.

Under the draft, the main targets with the aim of promoting socio-economic development of Quang Binh province by 2020 will be re-oriented with 18 breakthrough ideas in the fields. They will be focused on building Quang Binh to become a global model on sustainable development and environmental protection; attracting investment commitments on five-star international hotels; building Phong Nha into a trade name of ecological tourism, spa, resort, adventure,etc; strengthening investment in the existing economic zones and industrial park, including investment promotion in Hon La port; increasing production of agricultural products, breedings and aqualculture, supporting the output of products, expanding the food processing industry, etc.

In addition, Quang Binh will establish a maketing communications center that focuses on digital marketing; improving business climate to lure more investors, etc.

At the meeting, participants contributed many ideas to the draft on breakthroughs in socio-economic development master plan of Quang Binh by 2020. Among them, some ideas said that the draft was consistent with the orientation for socio-economic development of the province with a focus on building tourism into a key economic, however, the others claimed that it was not feasible and specific.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the efforts and initiatives made by the consultant in building the draft adjusting the socio-economic development master plan by 2030 with vision to 2050.

He asked the consultant to prepare a detailed plan quickly and complete it in a timely manner, ensuring high quality and achieving breakthroughs for the province’s development.
