Improve capacity building for community management
The Project "Promoting Community Management in Vietnam" is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
The project aims to help local people build self-management community models at grassroots levels, contributing to poverty alleviation and socio-economic development in localities and new rural development.
The project includes two phases, of which the first phase was carried out from 2008 to 2012 and the second phase is from 2013 to 2016.
According to report of the project management board, in the first nine months of 2015, in Quang Binh, the project built 166 sub-projects, focusing on five main types of infrastructure, culture - society, environmental sanitation, community involvement and improving income with total number of beneficiaries of more than 40,000 people.
Most beneficiaries have been improved their living conditions, local communities have also actively participated in policy dialogue with local authorities, ensuring responsibility, equitableness and democracy.
At the meeting, delegates have focused on discussing implementation of the project in the coming time. Accordingly, the project would continue to improve capacity for community management for local people.
