The ceremony was attended by Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Dang Quang; Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Xuan Quang and representatives of line departments and localities.

According to Decision No.313/QD-UBND dated February 8, 2012, the project of linking Hon La economic zone with the Tien - Chau -Văn Hoa cement industrial park has a total investment of VND885 billion.

The route is part of an important road project that will link Hon La Economic Zone with the province’s largest cement production zone in Tuyen Hoa district. Construction of the 500 metre long, nine metre wide, two lane sea dyke-cum-road with 245m in length and 7.5m in width was begun on June 3, 2011 by a joint-venture between Truong Thinh Corporation and MCO Company.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Quang stressed the importance of linking Hon Co island with Hon La island, contributing to upgrading the Hon la port for receiving vessels with the capacity from 1 ten thousand to 5-7 ten thousand tons and promoting the development of economy, tourism, national defence and security of the province.

Vice Chairman also praised the efforts made by executive units and asked the provincial management board of economic zones and relevant departments, units and localities to continue creating all favorable conditions to accelerate the project implementation process and ensure the quality of the project.
