Attending the meeting were PPC Standing Vice-chairman Nguyen Xuan Quang; Mr Le Duy Hung, head of the Dong Hoi city environmental sanitation project and representatives of relevant departments and branches.

The project has been carried out since June of 2007. The project's first phase has so far completed and put into use. Its second phase has carried out with a total investment of around USD58 million, including 32 contract packages. The progress of capital reimbursement has achieved nearly USD39 million.

At the meeting, delegates spent time on discussing issues relating to implementation of the project's second phase such as corresponding capital from the province, the project's capital management and the adjustment of contract packages.

Speaking at the meeting, PPC Standing Vice Chairman highly valued the WB's assistance and efforts made by the project management unit and relevant departments and branches in the implementation of Dong Hoi city environmental sanitation project.

In the future, the project management unit should check up the signed contract packages, drastically direct to accelerate the project's progress and complete site clearances, Vice Chairman said.

Vice Chairman also asked departments and branches to have a close combination in making an assurance of traffic safety, labor safety and environmental sanitation in the progress of implementing the project.
