Quang Binh: 33 communes to get access to hygiene improvement

(Quang Binh Website) - The Steering Committee of the Community Hygiene Output-Based Aid (CHOBA) project of Quang Binh province on January 16 held a meeting to deploy the implementation of its tasks in 2013. Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Tien Dung chaired the meeting.

CHOBA project funded by UASAID is carried out from June 2012 to June 2015 in eight provinces of Dong Thap, Tra Vinh, Tien Giang, Quang Binh, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Hai Duong and Ninh Binh with the aim at improving environment sanitation, reducing water-related illnesses and changing hygienic habits of the people.

In Quang Binh, CHOBA project is carried out in 33 communes of Le Thuy, Quang Ninh, Bo Trach and Quang Trach districts with a total investment of VND15.951 billion.

The project’s objective is to get 15,000 poor and nearly-poor households provided with toilets and hand washing facilities with running soap through the CHOBA project; 3,125 households provided with toilets; 100% households provided with a training course on fresh water, waste treatment and collection, and hand washing facilities with running soap; 346 collaborators periodically trained on community hygiene improvement and so on.
