According to the report of the Department of Planning and Investment, area under cultivation for summer-autumn crop was 31,023 ha, equal to 99.9% from last year’ same period. In the first months of the year, wood production gained 149,326 m3, equal to 83.6% from the same period last year; fishery reached 41,138 tons, up 5.4% against last year’ same period. Industrial production index grew 6%, trade reached 10,368.4 billion VND, up 13.8%; number of tourists reached 792.900, up 2.9% against the same period last year.

A lot of positive changes have been seen in fields of culture, sport, education and training, healthcare, national defence and security, social safety and order.

So far, 100% communes have announced the plan on building new rural area; 133 out of 141 communes have been planted borderline; 71 out of 141 communes have been approved the detailed plan in the heart of communes.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee highly appreciated great efforts and obtained results in socio-economic development of localities. He suggested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development issuing more instructions for localities to harvest rice before September 20, taking measures to prevent pestilent insect; well preparing for winter-spring crop and taking the initiative in solutions for flood and storm prevention.

Chairman also asked all levels, agencies and localities to focus on developing key projects, speeding up investment promotion, urgently completing the project of establishing Ba Don town to submit to the Government for approval; accelerating the progress of opening new air route of Dong Hoi - Taiwan; creating favorable conditions for businesses to develop production and business and building up the preparation plan for great holidays and important events of the province.
