The event was organized by the Department of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Trade Promotion Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Dang Quang; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Quang; representatives of Khammouane, Savannakhet and Bolykhamxay provinces (Laos), Nakhon Phanon, Sakon Nakhon, Bueng Kan, Noong Khai and Ubon Ratchathani provinces (Thailand).

Cutting ribbons to open the Quang Binh international trade fair 2014

The fair attracts the participation of nearly 400 booths from more than 170 economic organizations and businesses of the provinces across the country, 12 booths from three provinces of Laos and 20 booths from the provinces of the Kingdom of Thailand.

The products and items displayed in Quang Binh international trade fair 2014 are very abundant and diversified, including: food, beverage, clothes, leather shoes, household goods, electronics, fine handicrafts products, school equipment, fertilizer, flowers, ornamental plant and other consumer goods.

The fair is a good opportunity for domestic and foreign enterprises to showcase their products and seek opportunities for business co-operation and market expansion.

The event also offers the province the chance to introduce its potential for cave tourism.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highlighted that the Quang Binh international trade fair 2014 is an important event in a serise of activities to mark the National Trade Promotion Program 2014 and the implementation of Memorandum of Understanding signed at the senior conference between nine provinces of Vietnam - Laos and Thailand using the road No.8 &12.

This is a trade promotion activity to promote ecoomic cooperation relation, open many oportunities for import-export activities on the East-West Corridor, creating favorable conditions to introduce potentials and strengths, and popularize brand name of local products to domestic investors and international tourists.

The fair also affirms the friendship, cooperation and integration to promote economic, cultural and social development between Quang Binh and provinces, cities across the country and eight provinces using Road No.8 and Road No.12 of Laos and Thailand.

Industry and Trade Minister grants Certificate of Merit to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to collectives for their excellent achievements in organizing the fair

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade granted Certificate of Merit of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to 15 collectives for their excellent achievements in organizing the fair.

The event is taken place from July 24th to July 30th, 2014.
