Working with Golden West Humanitarian Foundation on “Improving capacity for landmine and UXO clearance” project
The meeting was attended by Mr Stephen Carter Ball, Program Director; Mr Nguyen Quang Bieu, GWHF's country representative in Vietnam, Ms Do Thi Hoai Thu, Vice Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr Le Van Vy, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Headquarters and related cadres.
At the meeting, two sides exchanged and agreed on contents relating to training course on improving capacity for landmines and UXO clearance for the province’s military forces and building a memmorandum of understanding for implementation.
Accordingly, the project will include works such as: building a training area for landmine clearance; training on landmine and UXO clearance; and giving a support of equipment for landmine clearance.
Under the plan, the first training course will be held in Quang Binh in March 2016.
