Delegates attend the conference

This is an important political, economic and external relations event, marking a new stage in the province’s development as it advances the implementation of its development planning, expands its growth space, and attracts investment resources to support socio - economic development.

The conference was attended by Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, former Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Nguyen Long Hai, Member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Central Party Agencies; Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Finance; leaders of central ministries, agencies and sectors; representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations; leaders of several localities from Laos and Thailand; investment promotion organizations, business associations and economic groups, as well as a large number of domestic and international businesses and investors.

Representing Quang Tri Province were Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Le Hong Vinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of the Standing Board of the Provincial People’s Council, the Provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri Province; as well as leaders of provincial departments, agencies and mass organizations.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, provided an overview of Quang Tri Province’s geoeconomic position, development potential, competitive advantages and growth opportunities following the merger. He emphasized that the adjustment of the Provincial Planning for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050, marks a particularly significant milestone in the province’s development process.

The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that Quang Tri is always open to welcoming domestic and international investors to explore opportunities, establish partnerships and pursue long-term development in the province. He emphasized that Quang Tri seeks to attract investment not through short - term advantages, but through a long - term vision, sincerity, a strong sense of responsibility on the part of the local government, and a steadfast commitment to accompanying and supporting investors throughout their investment journey.

He emphasized that the success of investors is the ultimate measure of the province’s governance capacity and the quality of its investment environment. This is both a commitment and a responsibility that the Party organization and authorities of Quang Tri uphold toward the business community and investors.

At the conference, the Provincial People’s Committee announced the Decision approving the adjustment of the Quang Tri Provincial Planning for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050. The adjusted planning serves as an important foundation for mobilizing, allocating and effectively utilizing development resources, while maximizing the province’s advantages in geoeconomic location, transportation infrastructure, marine economy, international border gates, energy resources, and its rich cultural and historical heritage.

According to the revised planning, Quang Tri will pursue development based on four strategic pillars: energy, logistics, tourism and green agriculture. The province will also establish three key economic corridors, seven growth poles and two priority development zones, creating a solid foundation for rapid and sustainable growth in the years ahead.

By 2030, Quang Tri aims to become a well-developed province in the north central region and a regional hub for clean energy, logistics and distinctive tourism in central Vietnam. The province targets an average annual GRDP growth rate of over 10 percent, an economic scale of approximately VND 238 trillion, and a per capita GRDP of between VND 180 million and VND 200 million. Total social investment capital for the 2026 - 2030 period is expected to exceed VND 520 trillion, while total power generation capacity is projected to surpass 15,000 MW. The province also aims to attract between 13 and 15 million tourist arrivals annually, positioning tourism as a key economic sector. Looking ahead to 2050, Quang Tri envisions becoming a leading center for clean energy, logistics, tourism and the marine economy with a strong standing in Southeast Asia.

At the conference, leaders of Quang Tri Province presented Investment Policy Approval Decisions, Investment Registration Certificates and approvals for investment research to 33 projects and project proposals, with a total registered investment capital of up to VND 194.58 trillion.

The awarded projects are concentrated in key sectors, including energy, urban development, logistics, tourism, industry and high-tech agriculture. Among these, the energy sector accounts for the largest share of the total registered investment capital, reflecting the business community’s confidence in the province’s development potential and strategic planning orientation.

Also at the conference, businesses pledged support for the province’s housing assistance program for people with meritorious services to the revolution and families of fallen soldiers, with total contributions amounting to VND 20 billion.

As part of the program, Quang Tri Province organized an exhibition space showcasing the Provincial Planning, key development projects, socio-economic achievements, outstanding OCOP products, and the province’s potential for tourism, trade, services and investment. The exhibition was held under the theme “Quang Tri – New Space, New Opportunities.”

In his closing remarks, Mr. Le Hong Vinh, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized that the Conference on the Announcement of the Adjusted Provincial Planning and Investment Promotion marked an important milestone in both the development vision and growth space of Quang Tri Province following the merger. He noted that the event serves as a platform to connect and mobilize new resources through investment promotion activities.

Following the conference, the province will intensify communication and dissemination efforts regarding the provincial planning through a variety of appropriate channels and formats. These efforts aim to help officials, Party members, businesses and the public gain a comprehensive understanding of the province’s vision, development orientation and growth opportunities, thereby fostering consensus and unity in its implementation.

Affirming the province’s determination in this new phase of development, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Hong Vinh emphasized that Quang Tri will maximize its revolutionary tradition, spirit of solidarity, and resolve for self - reliance and resilience. The province is committed to translating planning into action, potential into resources, advantages into competitive strengths, and development aspirations into tangible outcomes. He further stressed that this represents a strong commitment by the province to the central government, the business community and investors to build Quang Tri into a key growth pole of the North Central Region, making increasingly significant contributions to the country’s overall development.
