Three new caves to officially open to tourists at Phong Nha-Ke Bang
Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee permits the Jungle Boss Limited Company to give a trial for tour exploring caves of Dai A, Over and Pygmy as the proposal of the Tourism Department.
The pilot tour is operated in six months (December 1st, 2017 - May 31st, 2018). During the pilot duration, the tour ticket is estimated at VND 600,000 per visitor.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Tourism in coordination with the Management Board of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and related agencies and localities to supervise the pilot exploitation, aiming to ensure security and order, safety and preserve landscapes and ecological environment of the tourist route.
After the pilot duration, the Jungle Boss Limited Company will report operational results of the pilot tour to the Department of Tourism and the Management Board of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park for approval before submitting it to the Provincial People's Committee for official operation permission of the tour.
The caves of Dai A, Over and Pygmy are part of the Vom cave system in the ecological restoration zone of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.
The Dai A Cave (previously known as Tiger cave) stretches 1,616 meters in length and reaches as deep as 46 meters from its opening, which measures over 50 meters in diameter.
The Over Cave is located 100 meters from Tiger Cave, running 3,244 meters in length and 104 meters in depth with the widest section measuring up to 125 meters in width.
Meanwhile, Pygmy Cave is the smallest of the three, stretching only 845 meters in length and 94 meters deep.
The caves are surrounded by primeval forests boasting high biodiversity and scenic landscapes.
