Besides, Quang Binh is endowed with many beautiful beaches, such as Nhat Le, Quang Phu, Da Nhay, Hai Ninh..., that allow Quang Binh to develop sea tourism. Implementing State management in tourism, in the past time, the Department of Tourism has inspected tourism business activity and services, food hygience and safety and the implementation of law regulations on accommodation and price notices in hotels and restaurants in the province.

However, because of being heavily affected from sea environmental inccidents and natural disasters, number of tourists to Quang Binh has been sharply decreased. Tourism business activitiy has met a lot of difficulties; tourism products have limited; rate of room occupancy has been low; technical facilities and tourism infrastructure have not synchronously invested; human resources for tourism have lacked of professional skills...

In order to promote the potentials of resources, develop sustainable tourism and bring tourism to become a spearhead economic sector, the Provincial People's Committee has strengthened development of tourist market from Laos and Thailand; improved infrastructure in the Chut Mut border gate and Ca Roong border gate to become international border gates; cooperated with Laos to develop links between tourism products of the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and the Hin Nam No National Park, etc.

In addition, the province has also put forward some ideas on organization of important events and national-level meetings in Quang Binh; popularization of tourism at home and abroad to bring Quang Binh tourism, especially cave tourism to international markets, fairs, seminars and road show; development of domestic and international air routes, creating conditions to develop tourism; recognition of Phong Nha - Ke Bang as a national tourism area and Dong Hoi as a national tourist site; planning of construction of rest stops in the National Road No.9B, 12A and 1 and Ho Chi Minh road; allocation of expenditures from the national target program on tourism for tourism infrastructure and tourism products of Quang Binh, etc.
