 Cutting ribbons to open the foreign service information complex in Cha Lo International Border Gate

During the past time, the Provincial People's Committee has actively directed and instructed the implementation of Decision No. 368/QD-TTg, dated February 28th on the Government’s action program on foreign service information for the 2013-2020 period, the documents of the Party, State, Government, Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Provincial Party's Committee on foreign service information with many different forms.

Besides, the departments and branches have also organised many training courses to improve professtional skills of foreign service information and popularise the importance of the sea and island; propagandized and fighted with wrong views and hostilities in the current period.

In particular, the province has issued some publications on foreign service information and investment promotion such as list of projects calling for investment in tourism, Quang Binh - Potentials and investment opportunity, Quang Binh awakes potentials; provided documents to popularise the images of Quang Binh province to the Offices of Hanoi VCCI and Danang VCCI, aiming to serve the APEC 2017 Meeting and the magazines of Vietnam Business Forum, Industry and Trade Newspaper, Pacific Asian Magazine, etc.

On the other hand, the province has managed and operated a foreign service information complex of Cha Lo international border gate, which was invested by the Ministry of Information and Communications, contributing to strengthen information supply on the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and law as well as the province's socio-economic situation to ethnic minority people in far-flung and remote areas, improving the cultural and spiritual life for people.

With many abundant and diversified forms, the province has promoted the popularisation of the motherland, people, potentials, images of investment promotion, information supply on projects calling for investment on the media.

Especially, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has written an article titled "Vietnam - Thailand: Towards Enhanced Strategic Partnerships", which was published on the magazines of the World and Vietnam News.

The province has also created conditions for 56 foreign reporters from many press agencies and film crews to popularise on Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Son Doong Cave and En Cave, such as CCTV Channel (China), Legendary Pictures Firm (US), NRK Television (Norway), RAI Radiotelevision Italiana (Italy), Nextko AB (Sweden), TBS Television (Japan), etc.

In addition, investment promotion activities have been speeded up through the meetings with the ambassadors from America, Ireland, Hungary, Japan, India, South Korea, China, Czech, Australia, Argentia, England, Italy, Sweden...; organizations of many investment promotion delegations in Thailand to attend the workshops on "Investment attraction in Quang Binh", "Cooperation on tourism between Thailand and Quang Binh province".

The province has coordinated with the Ministry of Information and Communications to successfully organise an exhibition on photos and reportage and documentary films on ASEAN community in Vietnam (July 14-17, 2015), an exhibition displaying maps and documents entitled “Vietnam's Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos – Historical and legal evidence” (June 16-20, 2017) in the provincial general museum. This was one of activities to enhance the people's awareness, solidarity and responsibility of protecting and affirming the sovereignty of Vietnam to Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.

For the upcoming time, in order to strengthen work of foreign service information, meeting the requirements in the new situation, the province will continue implementing the tasks spitulated in Decision No.368/QD-TTg date February 28, 2013 on the Government’s action program on foreign service information for the 2013-2020 period; approving regulations on State management on foreign service information of Quang Binh province; speeding up training on foreign service information; strengthening work of propaganda on foreign service information programs on the media; building publications and radio and television programs on foreign information to popularise the potentials and strengths of economic development and tourism of the province; managing and operating the efficiency of the foreign service information complex of Cha Lo international border gate.
