In addition, the locality is famous for the Vietnam's longest coastal sands with many beautiful beaches such as Nhat Le, Bao Ninh, Quang Phu and Da Nhay, and unique sea products; Bang hot water spring with its boiling temperature 105 celsius degrees; historical relics, cultural heritages and hospitable and friendly people. This is also the homeland of outstanding people such as General Vo Nguyen Giap, Mandarin Nguyen Huu Canh, Duong Van Anh and many other brilliants. Especially, there are many unique cultural values and intangible cultural heritage such as Ca tru, Ho khoan Le Thuy, etc.

With a lot of advantages in resources, Quang Binh tourism has seen a high growth in the recent years. Concretely, the province welcomed 11.2 million tourists in the 2011-2015 period, average growth rate reached over 30% a year. In 2016, despite meeting a lot of difficulties in sea environmental incidents, Quang Binh tourism still remained and prepared the premise for the recovery and development in 2017 and the following years. In the first six months of 2017, Quang Binh tourism has seen many remarkable results. The total number of tourists was estimated to reach 1.5 million, grew by 20%; total tourism turnover was estimated to reach VND1,630 billion, increased by 16%; coefficient of staying overnight was an estimation of 1.1 day a guest; room occupancy reached 47.4%, etc.

Defining tourism as a spearhead economic sector of the locality, Quang Binh province approved the action program No.06-CTr/TU dated July 13th, 2016 on tourism development in the 2016-2020 period; the action program No.13-CTr/TU dated May 12th, 2017 on tourism development in the 2016-2020 period (modification and supplementation) and the Plan No.1503/KH-UBND dated September 13th, 2016 on implementation of the action program No.06-CTr/TU dated July 13th, 2016 on tourism development in the 2016-2020 period in order to concretize and mobilize all resources for tourism development. On this basis, the province has developed four big tourism hubs, including Phong Nha - Ke Bang, Dong Hoi city, Vung Chua - Yen Island and a southern spiritual tourism center.

At present, the province has 287 tourism accommodation establishments, including 01 five-star hotel, 02 four-star hotels, 03 three-star hotels, 28 two-star hotels, 32 one-star hotels with 4,617 rooms and 8,634 beds. Most of accommodation establishments is mainly located in Dong Hoi city and Phong Nha - Ke Bang region.

Meanwhile, the province's southern spiritual tourism center is home to Quan Hau ferry, Long Dai ferry, the monument of heroic martyrs in Long Dai ferry, Than Dinh Mountain, Tam Lu waterfall, Rao Da lake, Mandarin Nguyen Huu Canh's tomb, Hoang Phuc pagoda, General Vo Nguyen Giap's commemorative house, etc. This is an important tourist route linking Dong Hoi city and tourist destinations such as a luxury resort of FLC Group, a resort in U Bo, connecitng the National Road No.1A and legendary Ho Chi Minh road system.

Under the master plan, the tourist route will receive tourists by seaway and develop waterway tourism products of Quang Binh such as Nhat Le - Long Dai route, Long Dai - Tam Lu route, Nhat Le - Long Dai - Than Dinh Mountain spiritual tourism route, Than Dinh Mountain tourist site, tour of exploring unique culture of Bru Van Kieu ethnic minority people, etc.

Development of this route is a driving force for development of Than Dinh Mountain tourist site where is considered as Yen Tu of the Northern Central region in general and the spiritual tourism center of the southern Quang Binh in particular.

Especially, the reinvestment of Bang hot water spring, development of U Bo ecotourism area and investment promotion of Khe Nuoc Trong - Dong Chau forest will contribute to promoting socio-economic development of the province's southern districts.

It is believed that with the infrastructure development of tourism route linking Dong Hoi city tourism center and spiritual tourism center in the province's southern area, Quang Binh will improve the province's tourism picture, contributing to overcome the seasonality of tourism, attract tourists and bring tourism to become a spearhead economic sector for socio-economic development of the province.
