Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang Pays Tribute to Fallen Heroes in Quang Tri
On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026) and while attending the opening ceremony of the Festival for Peace 2026 in Quang Tri, on the afternoon of July 4, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, together with a central government delegation, offered flowers and incense in tribute to fallen heroes and martyrs at the Special National Relic Site of Quang Tri Citadel, the Road 9 National Martyrs Cemetery, and the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery. Joining the delegation from Quang Tri Province were Mr. Le Duc Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of relevant provincial departments and agencies.

The delegation offered flowers and incense at the special national relic site of Quang Tri Citadel, the memorial temple dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh and fallen heroes and martyrs, the Quang Tri citadel bell tower, and the flower - release sites on the northern and southern banks of the Thach Han river. In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates respectfully commemorated and expressed their profound gratitude to the fallen heroes and martyrs who fought valiantly and sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the fatherland.

The delegation also offered flowers and incense at the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery, the resting place of more than 10,200 heroes and martyrs who bravely sacrificed their lives along the legendary Truong Son Road (Ho Chi Minh Trail) during the resistance war against the United States. In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang and members of the delegation respectfully bowed in tribute to the great contributions and sacrifices of the fallen heroes and martyrs, and expressed their resolve to continue upholding the revolutionary tradition, joining efforts to build a more prosperous and powerful nation worthy of the sacrifices of previous generations.
