In the morning of November 05, the border delegation of Savannakhet province had a talk with the border delegation of Quang Binh province. Vice-chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai warmly welcomed the Savannakhet border delegation's official visit to Quang Binh and spoke highly of the great successes obtained by the Savannakhet province in the past time. He described the visit as an important event, taking bilateral friendship and comprehensive cooperation to a new heights of development. Two sides will regularly exchange information, strengthen propagation and popularization for contents of Viet-Lao cross-border Convention, contributing to building Viet-Lao border line to be peaceful, friendly, stable, cooperative and developed; continue to create favorable condition for the people and enterprises in border area to invest in production and business, goods exchange, cooperation and development of economy, culture, society and tourism. Two sides will co-ordinate to fight against crime in border area; prevent border cross and illegal exploitation of natural resources, smuggling and drug transport cross the border.

Province Deputy Governor expressed thanks to the Quang Binh leaders and people for extending a warm welcome to the Savannakhet border delegation.

After the talks, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding for year 2009.
