Contract signing ceremony for receiving management and exploitation of Hon La port for first phase

(Quang Binh Website) - In the morning of November 08 2008, the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation (PetroVietnam) held a contract signing ceremony for receiving management and exploitation of the Hon La port for the first phase.

Attending the contract signing ceremony were Head of the Organization Board of Provincial Party Committee Hoang Dang Quang; Permanent Vice-chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai; Deputy General Director of the PetroVietnam and leading representative of related departments and branches.

Under the signed contract, two sides agreed to hand over and receive the management and exploitation of the Hon La port for the first phase as following principles: the party A (Quang Binh Department of Transportation) will invest in the port's infrastructure approved by the Provincial People's Committee; the party B (PetroVietnam Technical Service Corporation) will invest in means and equipment; provide human resources to manage and operate exploitation of Hon La port for the first phase; continue to invest for the second phase after the Prime Minister allows to hand over the port for the party B.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Permanent Vice-chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai stressed that Hon La port plays an important role in the socio-economic development of Quang Binh province. Once to be operational, Hon La port will contribute to helping Quang Binh to develop the economy, bringing Quang Binh province to escape the poverty.

The related departments and branches continue to co-ordinate with management units to put Hon La port for the first phase into operation, said Vice-chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai.

He asked the units to manage and operate Hon La port for the first phase, promote investment in building the port for the second phase immediately after the Prime Minister officially approves the plan.
