WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT PROJECT IN NORTHWEST DONG HOI INDUSTRIAL PARK

1. Location of the project

Located in Northwest Dong Hoi Industrial Park, Bac Ly ward, Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province. The projected area borders:

- On the East: It borders rice fields

- On the West: It borders 500kV electricity transmission line going through the industrial park

- On the North: It border the existing rainwater reservoir;

- On the South: It borders the existing wastewater reservoirs and the land area allocated to the enterprises.

2. Purpose of the project

- To build a wastewater collection and treatment plant according to modern and advanced technologies in order to collect and treat wastewater from factories in the Northwest Dong Hoi Industrial Park;

- To essure that the treated wastewater meet the national standards on industrial wastewater.

3. Scale of the project:

Total projected area: 5.052 m2;

Factory capacity: 500 m3 per day.

4. Total estimated investment capital

VND200 billion

5. Type of invesment

Encouraging all forms of investment: Joint venture between domestic and foreign investors, 100% investment of domestic and foreign capital or ODA capital.

6. Expected effectiveness of the project

Environmental and social effects:

Currently, in the Northwest Dong Hoi Industrial Park, the registered projects have occupied all Zone A’s land and a part of Zone B's land. Therefore, environmental problems in both the industrial park and surrounding areas will be addressed with this wastewater treatment plant project.

Economic effect:

Due to a great number of factories in the park, revenues from wastewater treatment fees can cover the investment capital in a sufficient period of time.

7. Natural conditions and current situations of the project

Topography: the project area is hilly land area which was totally cleared;

Technical infrastructure:

- There are 17 licensed projects being operated in the industrial park;

- Basic infrastructure such as electricity and water systems has been fully furnished in the park area.
